Mocingbird is a fast-growing SaaS company modernizing how healthcare professionals manage continuing education and credentialing. Our web and mobile platform helps clinicians stay compliant with licensing requirements - without the administrative burden.
We are a live, production platform with real users, real revenue, and real impact in healthcare. Our software directly supports clinicians and organizations operating in regulated environments, and the work we do matters.
We’re a mission-driven, remote-first team founded by physicians who have lived the pain of medical credentialing firsthand. We care deeply about quality, empathy for users, and building software that delivers measurable value.
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a distributed engineering team as our product, platform, and organization continue to evolve.
This is not an easy role. We are moving quickly, the product is changing rapidly, and we are solving real problems - some inherent to the domain, some self-inflicted, and many that come with scaling a live system. Success in this role requires balancing speed with thoughtfulness, execution with long-term vision, and autonomy with accountability.
You’ll lead engineers working across our web, backend, and mobile applications, spanning onshore and offshore contributors, with a growing U.S.-based presence. You’ll be responsible for helping the team operate as a cohesive, high-output unit while maintaining quality, security, and reliability.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role. While this is primarily a leadership position, we expect Engineering Managers at Mocingbird to stay technically engaged - reviewing code, contributing when necessary, and being capable of diving into unfamiliar areas to unblock the team. This is not a pure management or people-only role.
The role comes with significant autonomy and discretion. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, shape execution, and take ownership of outcomes. How successful you are here will be very visible, and very impactful.
We actively use AI tools to improve developer productivity, triage issues, assist with debugging, and accelerate code generation—with intention and accountability.
AI is part of our product, our tooling, and our day-to-day workflows. At the same time, we are thoughtful about security, quality, and ownership. Any code generated with AI is owned by the engineer who ships it, reviewed like any other code, and held to the same standards.
We believe AI is a powerful tool—not a replacement for judgment, responsibility, or craftsmanship. This role requires comfort working with these tools and contributing to how they’re used responsibly across the team.
Mocingbird’s mission is to reduce the administrative burden of continuing education and medical credentialing. Clinicians deserve to focus on care, not paperwork. We’re building tools that create real value, reduce friction, and improve lives.
